Community Education Providers Statewide Conference
After evaluations from last year’s Brainfood conference regarding the stress levels of people in our sector, it was decided to peruse an alternative to the ‘sit and listen’ Keynote address for the 2010 Brainfood Conference. This is where Rod Sherwin came in to start off our conference and what a fantastic start we had. It set the mood for an overall ranking of 95% of people attending found the conference to be Excellent – Very Good.
Rod had everyone tapping while he explained the principles of tapping and within a very short period of time had the group relaxing into the session. People attending said the session was most useful and a valuable tool to use personally or back at their Community Learning Centres and Neighbourhood Houses. We had people taking up the opportunity to tap throughout the conference, which showed to me that participants embraced the concepts.
Participants said, “I wasn’t planning to attended the workshop, but was extremely interested, and I am slowly getting converted and will practise it over the coming weeks, as I could really do with it” and “finally something that deals with your health and well being that doesn’t cost a ‘bucket’” and “you can do it whenever and wherever you want. Drug free help at last!”
We had some awesome comments on our evaluation sheets, such as:
Inspiring, awesome, very stimulating, simple and useful
Really enjoyed this workshop with lots of fun and practical learning
Will be very handy for work and with our youth and children’s services programs
I am a converted tapper now.
The following comment depicted what we were setting out to do when engaging Rod – I quote – “Even though a bit sceptical addressing the high stress levels within the sector with something practical is brilliant”. It did turn out to be brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend Rod for your event whether it is a corporate event, Conference, Professional Development or personal. He has a lot to offer and we need to at least provided the opportunity for people to see how the ‘tapping tool’ works, because it is so cost effective.
Just to finish, one of the participants rang me after the conference to say she has a great fear of travelling through tunnels and would go miles to avoid them. She said that throughout the conference she used the tapping and on the way home tapped as well. For the first time she drove through the Burnley tunnel and came the direct way home. She said when she got mid-way through she thought that she would have a panic attack and just started tapping and managed to make it through and felt absolutely wonderful. She is converted.
Thank you – Rod Sherwin.
