Welcome to the field of Energy Psychology

Energy Psychology is a set of therapies that work directly on the body to produce psychological change. The Emotional Freedom Techniques, aka EFT Tapping, is the most widely used approach from this field.

EFT was developed by Gary Craig in the mid-1990s. EFT works by resetting the brain’s stress response which creates shifts in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

EFT uses gentle tapping with the fingertips on specific points on the face, head, upper torso and hands combined with spoken words that help focus on a specific issue or event.

The process looks a little strange but the results make it worth it!

What are the benefits of the Emotional Freedom Technique?

EFT is a gentle, safe and non-invasive way of healing and changing your life for the better. The basics of EFT Tapping are easy to learn and apply for day-to-day stress.

For more serious issues, working with an experienced EFT Practitioner can effectively address a variety of emotional and physical issues, including:

  • Trauma

  • Fears and phobias

  • Grief

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Insomnia and Sleep disorders

  • Anger issues

  • Weight loss problems

  • Learning disorders

  • Obsessive-compulsive behaviour

  • Panic disorders

  • Addictions

  • Relationship issues

  • Financial mindset

  • Chronic Pain and Headaches

EFT has been researched in more than 10 countries, by more than 60 investigators, whose results have been published in more than 20 different peer-reviewed journals. There is now a wealth of scientific research and studies supporting it’s effectiveness.

What can I expect from the Emotional Freedom Technique?

There are many gentle and indirect ways to approach problems so that, unlike other types of counselling, EFT doesn’t require you to talk about the problem if you don’t feel like it.

The skill of the EFT Practitioner is to guide you to identify and clear issues while also checking to ensure that all aspects are thoroughly addressed and coping strategies are no longer required.

EFT sessions can be conducted face-to-face or online via video call. There’s not much difference as EFT as long as the client can communicate with the EFT Practitioner.

An EFT session lasts 45-60mins. Some problems can be resolved in a single session but more complex problems may take a few more sessions. On average, EFT sessions produce results in a much shorter time than conventional talk therapies.
